My name is Sam - some call me the Cheese Queen. I am a born & raised Wisconsinite. I don't ONLY eat cheese curds but I do love all things cheese.
I became unemployed during the pandemic in March of 2020. I worked in HR for a restaurant franchise. I decided that I would continue to support local restaurants and workers by eating out once a week. Somehow that turned into a mission to find the best curds in the state. Here we are!
Everyone you ask will have a different opinion on this but I can tell you mine. I look for a good batter not breading) with the perfect batter-to-cheese ratio. Not too greasy. The cheese has to have a nice pull and be juuuuust melty enough. I love a spicy ranch but make sure it's thiccc (with three C's exactly). Anything less than a 7 ain't worth the calories.
